Welcome to the initial public offering of KnowMore Blogging, the official weblog for Doug Murata. My first task after welcoming any who come across this site, whether by accident or by intention, is to thank Rosa Say for this wonderful gift subscription to TypePad.
Rosa, author of the book Managing with Aloha is the person solely responsible for getting me into blogging. I first blogged on her site Talking Story and subsequently met her in person to talk story.
A few weeks ago she offered to give one of her online community a gift subscription to TypePad. I e-mailed Rosa my interest in receiving the gift and described my plans for using it, should I be awarded it. She quoted me in the posting she made announcing me as the lucky recipient of the gift subscription.
“I have a saying that I learned a long time ago…you think with what you know and you act based on your thinking. The quality of your know-how, thinking, and action determines the quality of your results. I define know-how in this case as knowledge plus experience.
And furthermore, the absolutely best way to increase and improve know-how is through learning....not just the acquisition of knowledge but the learning of how to apply that knowledge through experience, as well.
I see blogging as a way to facilitate that learning process. It provides an opportunity for people to share knowledge and experiences that can be used to improve their quality of life...whether it be work life, home life, etc. In this case, the blogging we are talking about will revolve more around a business life.”

True to my word, I am launching this weblog to provide an opportunity for people to share knowledge and experiences that can help others improve the quality of their life. I have focused the weblog around business and invited all "business mavens" to share.
In the coming weeks and months, I hope to begin sharing my experiences, my interests, my reading lists, and my enthusiasm for knowing more.
